WINNIPEG, Jan. 4, 2023 – For the second consecutive year, the Winnipeg Jets will celebrate the next generation of hockey with their NextGen Game on Feb. 26, and the team is again looking to get Manitoba youth involved in the game through the NextGen Takeover contest.
The contest, which runs from now until Jan. 18, invites youth aged 16 or younger to submit auditions for several game production and media roles, including:
· PA Announcer
· Game Host
· TSN3 Host
· Jets Post-Game Reporter
· CJOB Radio Commentator
To enter the NextGen Takeover contest, youth will need to submit which role(s) they are interested in along with a 30-45 second video audition reel at WinnipegJets.com/NextGen. The youth selected for the roles will be mentored throughout the game by those who normally fill each of the positions.
Additional to the Takeover, the entire NextGen 2:30 p.m. matinee game on Feb. 26 will have a youthful vibe courtesy of many youth-tailored game presentation elements, including player animations, warmup music selected by young fans, a new youth-focused pre-game hype video and a fun on-ice intermission game. Youth can share their pride in being part of the next generation of Jets fans with special Jets NextGen T-shirts, only available at Canada Life Centre Jets Gear locations during the Feb. 26 game.
The Jets look forward to seeing many of their young fans at Canada Life Centre for the game and encourage ticket holders to bring their kids to the game.
